We’re back from the removals conference, and what a week it was!
Between the round tables, the dinners and a suspicious amount of cane toad racing, we’re tired, happy and full of ideas.
Our purpose for attending, as always, was to genuinely connect with and listen to our customers with the plan to turn what they had to say into actionable insights. Here’s a quick recap of the highlights and what we’re taking back to the team.

The webinar paid off
We ran a webinar before the event, and it made a huge difference. Lots of people had already watched it and turned up with proper questions about pricing and timeframes for getting started. It’s a great way to skip the small talk and get straight to the good stuff.
Round tables and real conversations
The round tables were a highlight. We got into some in-depth chats about MovewareGo, Moveware Online, Video Surveys and our new Online Docs. We didn’t make it to every table (sorry if we missed you!), but we caught up with plenty of people one-on-one between sessions.
What everyone’s asking for
A few themes kept coming up:
- Online quotes, booking confirmations and payments: Customers should be able to quote, accept and pay without endless back and forth.
- Ditching paper and Word merges: Digital forms are winning.
- Retiring the DIY tools: Some teams have built their own systems and would love to stop maintaining them.
- Video Surveys and MovewareGo: Lots of interest in surveying and crew tools for the field.
- Costings and reporting: People want to see where their margins are working, and where they aren’t.
- Asset management: A few were surprised to hear Moveware already has an asset feature.
Google reviews are gold
Everyone agreed that Google reviews are one of the best assets a removals business can have. The big question is how to collect more of them and show off the best. (Spoiler alert: We have a solution!)
A quick word on AI chat tools
We heard some honest feedback about AI chatbots handling customer enquiries. Accuracy matters, and so does knowing when to hand over to a real person. We’re keeping that firmly in mind.
The fun stuff
The best part of a conference is the people. It was brilliant to reconnect with clients and industry friends, some of whom we hadn’t seen in a while. There was golf, salsa dancing (some of us have more rhythm than others…) and cane toad racing, which is exactly as chaotic as it sounds. The dinners were where a lot of the best conversations happened.
Thank you
A big thanks to the customers already using our newer tools who spoke so highly of them to their peers. It means a lot.
