A Guide to Implementing Software

Software Installation
The software installation phase involves the installation of the database on the server and individual computers, as required, depending on the exact hardware and network configuration chosen by the customer.
Preliminary Planning
At the beginning of every implementation, a detailed project plan is put in place, outlining the project tasks, timelines and responsibilities. The initial planning has an agreed-upon “go-live date”, followed by discussions with the client’s staff. We help them identify the company’s work processes and how to use the system functionalities.
Configuration
The configuration is arguably the most crucial step of the implementation. It involves building a client’s specific database, including, but not limited to, standard processes, terminology, security levels, menus, inventory, chart of accounts, and much more. It is all designed to make Moveware match a company’s precise requirements. It will be important that the customer’s key staff learn how to administer and set up Moveware. These skills will ensure maximum use of the system from day one and towards the future.
Document and Report Writing
Moveware comes standard with many reports and documents. It is suitable for customer use without all the need for modifications. Some other documents will need to be modified and customized, such as the quote and invoice templates. There may also be requirements for new ones to be generated. This part of the project ensures that all required documents are available to the clients. These documents can be created and printed from within Moveware.
Custom Development
Moveware can modify and enhance specific areas of the software at a customer’s request. The required modifications to the systems code can be complete during this stage of implementation.
Data Import
As part of the implementation, existing customer data and data tables can be imported into Moveware to avoid timely manual input. The scope to determine any data import is checked at the initial stages. The outcome can depend on the client’s ability to export data from the previous system. Moveware can provide our clients with any specific data import templates. Data imported may include debtor (customer) and creditor (vendor) master files, storage master files, inventory listings (such as vehicles, storage vaults and packing materials), employee listings, etc.
Training
To ensure that your company obtains the full benefit of Moveware, we will provide adequate training for all staff members. The required amount of teaching will vary with staff position specifications. It will also depend on the existing skill levels within the staff. Moveware tailors its training programs to company needs, depending on their planned use of the system and company infrastructure. We also provide intensive training for key staff who can help disseminate the information throughout the organization and assist in the maintenance and administration of Moveware past the implementation stage.
